This is coming after Real Madrid won 5-2 against  Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday,

Real Madrid defeated Liverpool at Anfield thanks to goals from Vinicius, Eder Militao, and Karim Benzema.

The defeat to Real Madrid added to Liverpool’s difficult season, which saw them lose both the FA and Carabao Cups.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are now in eighth position in the Premier League table.

However, Owen argued that this season’s dip could not be attributed to a single issue, with many factors contributing.

“Every Liverpool fan will have different reasons. Some will say the ownership. It is never one thing. Football isn’t like that.

“You have injuries at the start with big players out, a lack of confidence, maybe a lack of investment in midfield. There are so many reasons why you could pick holes.

“They have had this before, and they bounced back.”

Liverpool will hope to bounce back when they face Real Madrid in the return leg at the Santiago Bernabeu next month.
